IRELAND prop Andrew Porter has broken his silence after being name in the British and Irish Lions squad. The Leinster prop is one of fifteen Ireland players included in Andy Farrell's squad for the summer Tour of Australia. Ireland skipper Caelan Doris misses out through injury, with England lock Maro Itoje confirmed as captain of the touring side. Tadhg Beirne, Jack Conan, Tadhg Furlong, Ronan Kelleher, Joe McCarthy, Andrew Porter, James Ryan, Dan Sheehan, and Josh van der Flier make up the selected forwards. And the backs include Bundee Aki, Jamison Gibson-Park, Mack Hansen, Hugo Keenan, James Lowe, and Garry Ringrose. And now the Leinster prop was interviewed by the URC province's social media team as he revealed it's a dream come through. It's especially important for the Dubliner after he missed the 2021 tour due to injury. He admitted it was a proud day for all his family, Porter said: "It was bitter-sweet the last time, narrowly missing out on the plane over. "But I'm delighted really - I'm kind of lost for words - I'm so proud to represent my club, my country and my family, going over to Australia with the Lions. "It's everything you dream of when you're growing up, and as a professional rugby player, it's something I've always strived for, the kind of thing I want to tick off in my professional career. "It's a dream come true... really." The loose-head prop is one of twelve from the Dublin-based province that were selected for the touring squad.
