ITV is all set to spice up your afternoons with a brand new game show titled Time Is Money, slated for release later this year on ITV1. The TV giant looks to keep the success rolling as its current lineup of daytime game shows, like The Chase and Tipping Point, are pulling in impressive numbers.
Time Is Money will be hosted by none other than Strictly Come Dancing's very own Sara Davies and promises a high-octane quiz experience with a captivating catch: contestants start off with their prize money and have to play smart to hold onto it.
Each wrong answer sees some of that cash slip through their fingers, and it's survival of the savviest for the last contestant standing to win what's left.
Sara, the entrepreneurial star from Dragons' Den, couldn't hide her excitement: "I'm absolutely delighted to be hosting Time Is Money. This show is unlike anything you've seen before - it's full-on, it's exhilarating, and the pressure is real. It's going to be a rollercoaster of excitement and tension, and I can't wait to see who'll keep their cool under pressure. Get ready for a make or break adventure, because time really is money!"
Katie Rawcliffe, ITV's Director of Entertainment and Daytime, added: "It's been fantastic to see our afternoon game shows continue to thrive this year with The Chase, Deal or No Deal, Lingo and Tipping Point all delivering strong ratings and growing audiences.
"These shows have become a staple for daytime TV and we're thrilled to add Time Is Money to the mix. With its unique blend of fast-paced quiz action and high-stakes drama, Time Is Money will perfectly complement our existing lineup, as will Sara Davies as host."
Sara, famed for her spot on BBC's Dragons' Den, couldn't wait to spill the beans to her followers about hosting the upcoming game show Time Is Money. She's buzzing about ticking off a "bucket list aspiration" and has teased that shooting starts in just "a few weeks", reports Wales Online.
On her Instagram, Sara went on to say: "Having the opportunity to host a big quiz show has been a bucket list aspiration of mine for some time, and when the ITV team approached me to tell me about their new show format I was instantly hooked!
"I've been working with the team for a few months now on run throughs and I can honestly tell you it's proper 'edge of your seat' type stuff and will have you screeching at the telly watching people panic as their prize money drains away by the second!"
Time is Money will air on ITV1 later this year.
