Coronation Street enthusiasts believe they've figured out who will adopt Dee-Dee Bailey's baby – and it's not her brother James. As fans will remember, Dee-Dee (played by Channique Sterling-Brown) is currently expecting a child with the late villain Joel Deering (Calum Lill) who was killed off last year by Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton). Initially Dee-Dee planned to terminate the pregnancy but changed her mind when she discovered that Lauren's son Frankie, also Joel's child, needed a bone marrow transplant. After assisting Lauren and Frankie Dee-Dee decided to put her baby up for adoption. However this week Lauren was informed that a donor had been found for Frankie, meaning they no longer needed to wait for Dee-Dee's baby. In the same week Dee-Dee was thrilled when her brother James (Jason Callendar) returned but it soon emerged he had an ulterior motive. He suggested that he and his boyfriend Danny could adopt her baby but Dee-Dee rejected the idea, not wanting a constant reminder of Joel in her life. Moreover, in Wednesday's episode Dee-Dee told Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) that she had scheduled an appointment to begin the adoption process. Viewers have predicted a baby shocker for Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), sharing their theories online, reports Leicestershire Live. One person speculated on a Coronation Street fan page: "I don't think Dee-Dee will give James her baby. She will either keep it or give it to someone else, my money is on Carla and Lisa!". In support of this theory, another stated: "Yes that would make me so happy!" A third added: "Good theory." Further contributing to the discussion, another individual voiced: "It's Dee-Dee's decision about what she does. Carla and Lisa would be good parents though."
