Good Morning Britain star Richard Arnold has opened up about his agonising health condition. During Wednesday's (June 18) entertainment segment, the showbiz correspondent shared that he was struggling with a painful foot problem. While Richard was discussing Sir Rod Stewart's aspirations to set a sprinting world record with co-hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid, conversation shifted towards Rod's ambition to become a world record-holding sprinter. It was then that Richard divulged he was battling his own health troubles. He described suffering from plantar fasciitis, a disorder causing pain along the bottom of one's foot which often also affects the heel and foot arch, noting it as a common affliction for many. The topic had arisen whilst they were examining Rod's intention to pursue a 100m world record. With a running track at his residence and daily practice sessions, he's determined to shatter the global record. "I've got it down to 19 seconds by learning how to push off. "Now I'm going for 17 seconds, which I think would be a world record for someone my age," Rod recently remarked on his quest for the record, reports the Mirror . He further noted: "I keep myself very fit. I played soccer all my life don't play much anymore after a knee replacement but I've had the same trainer for 38 years. I've got a huge gym, an indoor pool, a golf course you name it." His motivation comes from an iconic source—Frank Sinatra. Rod shared the advice given by Sinatra: "He told me the secret to being a great singer is having powerful lungs. So do lots of underwater swimming and hold your breath." TV stalwart Richard has shared some of his most cherished moments whilst celebrating the 10th anniversary of the programme, recalling: "So many memories - Celine Dion singing me happy birthday in New York, "Barbra Streisand stopping mid interview to dab my moist top lip mid interview because of the heat of the lights, Cher in LA, Mariah Carey in Vegas, Bushtucker Trials backstage on I'm A Celeb and the trip of a lifetime with fans in Japan for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. I'm one lucky lad!". In the latest entertainment update, Richard and the team got up close with dinosaurs live in the studio to mark the release of Jurassic World: Rebirth, after catching up with the film's cast at the glamorous Leicester Square premiere. Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
