Eurovision legend Cheryl Baker has given her support to Remember Monday for this year's contest. The 71-year-old songstress and telly host, who clinched victory at the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest with Bucks Fizz and their chart-topping banger Making Your Mind Up, has had her say. She also flew the flag for the UK back in 1978 with the band Co-Co, landing eleventh with The Bad Old Days. With two Eurovision battles under her belt, Cheryl's weighed in on the trio Remember Monday, featuring Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull, and Charlotte Steele. They're set to belt out What the Hell Just Happened? to the globe come Saturday (May 17) night. Speaking at the WhichBingo Awards in Gibraltar, Cheryl revealed: "I think the girls are great, their singing is perfect and I think we'll be on the left hand side of the board, however, I have never yet chosen a winning song.", reports Surrey Live . "I always choose a song I think is the best so I like to think they are going to be a dark horse and come up maybe in the top five but I just don't know. "The odds at the moment is that Sweden is going to walk it and that's a good song. We're up against quite a few good songs this year but I do think the girls will do well." It's been a whopping 44 years since Cheryl's Eurovision triumph with Bucks Fizz, and she's confessed she's still glued to the contest every year, even hosting a bash for her mates and family to enjoy the spectacle. She exclaimed: "I love Eurovision. Someone said to me recently that Eurovision is their Christmas and I thought actually I get that. "It's a major part of my life. My kids have been brought up to love Eurovision so we'll all dress up and have Eurovision food and Eurovision drinks. We'll have score boards and prizes." The Remember Monday lasses bonded over their shared passion for music at sixth-form college in Hampshire, where they also attended musical theatre classes. Choosing the moniker Remember Monday, the band pays homage to the free periods at school they utilised for rehearsals and vocal sessions. After competing in BBC One's The Voice in 2019, the group has since taken their tunes on an international tour. Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final 2025 airs Saturday, May 17 on BBC One at 8pm
