Kind-hearted Jack Grealish has made yet another charitable donation - to a fundraising drive aiming to cover the funeral costs of a woman who died unexpectedly.
The Manchester City star committed £1,000 to the cause before posting on his social media channel asking followers to donate to a GoFundMe page set up in memory of Michelle Yates, who tragically died this month aged 55.
The GoFundMe reads: "Michelle suddenly passed away at the young age of 55. This has left her family and friends in complete shock and devastation. Michelle was a loving mum to Harry and William, her two sons, an amazing nan, a doting wife and lovely friend.
“The family were not prepared for Michelle’s sudden passing and are faced with funding her funeral while trying to grieve and process their loss, a time they shouldn’t have to worry about the financial impact a funeral has.” The family have so far raised nearly £7,000 of their £8,000 target
Grealish has previously donated £5,000 to fund cancer surgery for Dylan Lamb, a student from Liverpool who was diagnosed with leukaemia after visiting his doctor with back pain.
He reportedly made a £150,000 donation to a local hospital as well as auctioning off a match-worn shirt from his time at Aston Villa in order to raise £55,000 for the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.
And the England winger has also been a principal ambassador for Special Olympics Great Britain since 2022. He said at the time: "I’ve been thinking for some time about how I can best use the platform football has given me to create a positive change, and it had to be something really close to my heart.
"Special Olympics GB is such an important organisation, playing a huge role in tackling the lack of inclusion for hundreds of thousands of kids in the UK with intellectual disabilities."
On the pitch Grealish has had a difficult season at City, who have relinquished the Premire League title to Liverpool following a severe mid-season dip.
He has made just seven league starts, with a dozen further appearances off the bench and just a single goal plus one assist.
