While the buzz around Housefull 5 continues, Jacqueline Fernandez has another reason to celebrate. This time, on the international stage. The actress was honoured at the 2025 edition of the Italian Global Series Festival (IGSF) in Rimini, where she was recognised for her contribution to cinema during the festival’s grand opening night.
Sharing her joy online, Jacqueline posted photos from the prestigious event and penned a heartfelt message reflecting on the power of cinema. “Cinema as an art for me is not just about storytelling but a way to connect people across time, language, and continents. To be acknowledged for helping share that with the world means more than words can express! The IGSF, known for celebrating excellence in both television and film on a global platform, saw Jacqueline among a select group of distinguished awardees this year. Being included in such company was clearly a moment of pride for the Kick actress, who added in her post, “@igsfestival it was an honour to be awarded here in Rimini at your prestigious event with all the extraordinary awardees in attendance. Here’s to many more moments for us to celebrate cinema across the globe.”
Professionally, Jacqueline has been keeping busy. She recently appeared in Housefull 5, a comedy blockbuster directed by Tarun Mansukhani, which released on June 6, 2025. The film featured an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh, and more.
In addition, she also starred in the web series Hai Junoon! Dream. Dare. Dominate, directed by Abhishek Sharma, alongside Neil Nitin Mukesh and Boman Irani.
Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who has made a successful career in the Indian entertainment industry. She has also featured in music videos and appeared on various reality shows. Raised in Bahrain, Jacqueline later pursued a degree in mass communication at the University of Sydney. She began her professional journey as a television reporter in Sri Lanka before transitioning into the world of modelling. In 2006, she earned the title of Miss Universe Sri Lanka and went on to represent her country at the Miss Universe pageant the same year.
