JAMAICAN stars Chris Martin and Busy Signal are set to headline Kadoma Music Festival this year.
The duo is scheduled to perform at the festival on October 11 at the Odyssey Kadoma.
Joining the Jamaican duo on the line-up are Zimbabwean music heavyweights Alick Macheso, Winky D, Freeman HKD, Julian King and Feli Nandi.
Organisers of the festival said they might add more local artists
This edition will be the first time Jah Prayzah will not share the stage with Winky D and Alick Macheso at the KMF.
Organisers of the fourth edition said the diverse line-up showcases the festival’s commitment to blending different genres and styles, ensuring there’s something for every music lover.
Chris Martin, known for his smooth vocals and chart-topping hits like “Cheaters Prayer” and “Big Deal,” brings a unique blend of modern reggae and R&B influences to the table.
His soulful voice and captivating stage presence are sure to leave the audience spellbound.
In an interview with the Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, the festival director Prince Maradze said the selection criteria for the line-up were primarily based on fan interest.
“After every edition, we take time to listen to comments and fan interest in terms of who they want to see next,” he said.
Last year the festival was headlined by Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platnumz.
The festival serves as a platform for cultural exchange, fostering unity and appreciation for Zimbabwe’s rich heritage.
The diverse range of performers and the enthusiastic crowd created a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated the country’s musical traditions.
“We are always trying to grow and bring new fans to the event, which is why we explore different genres – something you will definitely see this year. Definitely expect fireworks as always,” he said.
Busy Signal, a dancehall heavyweight, is renowned for his energetic performances and hits like “Stay So,” “Come Over,” and “One More Night.”
His dynamic stage presence and infectious beats are guaranteed to get the crowd moving.
The Kadoma Music Festival has steadily grown into one of Zimbabwe’s premier entertainment events, attracting regional and international acts.
The inclusion of Martin and Busy Signal in this year’s line-up underscores the festival’s growing status and its commitment to delivering world-class musical experiences to Zimbabwean audiences.
Over the years, the festival has hosted huge African music giants such as Koffi Olomide, Mafikizolo and Makhadzi, to mention but just a few.
Last year, the Kadoma Music Festival had a significant economic impact on the local community, generating revenue for businesses, hotels, and tourism-related industries.
It also contributed to the city’s reputation as a cultural hub.
