James Anderson was not selected in the 2025 men's Hundred draft. The 42-year-old retired from international cricket in early 2024 and entered the draft after signing a one-year deal with Lancashire. Despite setting no reserve price, he went unselected for one of 26 domestic spots across eight teams. Meanwhile, the former English pacer was also unsold in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) Mega Auction. Here's more. Although Anderson wasn't picked in the first draft, there is still a chance for him to play in The Hundred. He could be picked as a Wildcard pick, which would see him join one of the eight teams. This opportunity still remains despite him not playing T20 cricket for over a decade and having recently signed with Lancashire. Afghanistan's Noor Ahmad and New Zealand's Michael Bracewell headlined the men's Hundred draft. Both players bagged £200,000 deals, with Ahmad joining Manchester Originals and Bracewell being picked up by Southern Brave. Their hefty price tags are a testament to their recent performances, including Bracewell's crucial role in New Zealand's Champions Trophy campaign. David Warner secured his first Hundred deal with London Spirit for £120,000, reuniting with former Australia coach Justin Langer. Rachin Ravindra, another first-timer, also joined the competition, landing a £120,000 contract with Manchester Originals after his Champions Trophy heroics. English players secured big deals in the men's Hundred draft. Jamie Overton joined the Spirit for £200,000, while Zak Crawley signed with Northern Superchargers for £120,000. Fire have named Chris Woakes their England player, allowing David Willey to land a £200,000 deal with the Rockets. Meanwhile, David Payne then claimed Willey's vacated £120,000 contract in Cardiff. Young cricketers also left their mark in the men's Hundred draft. Birmingham Phoenix acquired promising 17-year-old quick Harry Moore from Derbyshire for £41,500. After a strong winter with the England Lions, Durham batter Ben McKinney was picked as Manchester Originals's £78,500 pick. However, Rocky Flintoff failed to make it into any team despite his impressive performance this winter. As mentioned, the 42-year-old English cricket veteran, had registered for the 2025 IPL auction for the first time. However, the veteran pacer was ignored by the 10 franchises on Day 2 of the mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Despite last playing a T20 match over a decade ago in 2014 for Lancashire, Anderson had set his base price at ₹1.25 crore. Anderson has played a handful of just 44 matches in the 20-over format in his career. He has claimed 41 scalps at an average of 32.14. His best performance reads 3/23. His economy rate is on the higher side (8.47). Notably, he represented England in 19 matches, claiming 18 scalps at 30.66. He made his England debut (20-over format) in 2007. Anderson last appeared in the 20-over format back in 2014. He represented Lancashire against Warwickshire.
