Radio 1 presenter Jamie Laing has set out to run five Ultra Marathons in five days to raise money for Red Nose Day. Starting March 17, Laing plans to run more than 150 miles from London to Salford in Manchester.
Where can fans catch a glimpse of the former Made in Chelsea star?
Jamie Laing plans to run about 30 miles each day, finishing off at BBC Radio 1’s studios in Salford on March 21.
He kicked off the challenge in London on Monday, March 17. On his first day, Laing ran towards Harpenden, passing towns including Borehamwood and St Albans.
On his second day, March 18, he plans to run from Wyboston to Kettering, kicking off at 8.10am.
Laing is beginning his third day in Market Harborough. On his fourth day, he’ll be running through Kegworth.
Laing plans to end the run in Salford.
Fans spotted Laing running with several lookalikes in Hyde Park on Monday.
He’s also been spotted running through Cambridgeshire. Laing stopped at The Mandeville Hall for a rest and a brownie, according to Hunts Post.
Jamie Laing’s journey will be broadcast live on Radio 1 and BBC Sounds throughout the week, with video highlights shared on Radio 1’s social channels.
Fans can track Laing’s journey on his Instagram account and via the BBC’s live updates.
Laing is raising money for Comic Relief, supporting communities by providing food, healthcare and shelter for those in need. He’s already raised £80,777.
The former Made in Chelsea star has also cited mental health challenges as motivation for partaking in the challenge.
He said: “This is for me, for all those people who are suffering, who know someone who suffered.”
“In my 20s I suffered with anxiety, really badly, crippling anxiety. And I kind of really feel that this run is sort of a metaphor, putting one foot in front of the other. If you’re feeling a certain way, if you’re feeling down or anxious or whatever it may be, just keep moving forward.”
