Jasprit Bumrah is playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025, and on Wednesday, May 21, during the Hardik Pandya-led side’s match against Delhi Capitals, he picked up three wickets for 12 runs in 3.2 overs. Bumrah opened his wicket account by trapping Tristan Stubbs in front of the wickets on the second ball of the 10th over of the 181-run chase and then clean bowled Madhav Tiwari on the third ball of the 16th over.
While Stubbs could only manage to score two runs from four balls, Tiwari, on his IPL debut, was sent back to the pavilion for three runs from four balls.
Bumrah sealed MI’s 59-run win at Wankhede Stadium by dismissing Mustafizur Rahman for a golden duck on the second ball of the 19th over.
The figures of 3 for 12 helped Bumrah extend his tally of wickets to 30 in 23 IPL matches against Delhi Capitals, and he now tops the list of bowlers who have dismissed the most DC batters.
A total of three bowlers – Ravichandran Ashwin, Sunil Narine and Piyush Chawla – are joint second in the list with 27 wickets each to their credit against Delhi Capitals.

Bumrah is MI’s all-time leading wicket-taker in the IPL. In 142 matches played so far, he has accounted for the dismissal of 181 batters. In IPL 2025, Bumrah has 16 wickets to his name in nine matches.
The figures of 3/12 against the Faf du Plessis-led side in the 63rd league match of IPL 2025 also helped Bumrah become the first bowler in the world to take 25 three-wicket hauls in the IPL.
Bumrah’s performance in IPL 2025
Bumrah missed MI’s first four matches against CSK, GT, KKR and LSG due to a lower back injury which he suffered while playing against Australia in the fifth Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Sydney Cricket Ground earlier this year. He made a comeback against RCB in Mumbai on April 6 but remained wicketless.
However, in the last eight matches, he has picked up at least one wicket, and his best performance with the ball was against LSG on April 27. In the match played at Wankhede Stadium, Bumrah finished with figures of 4 for 22 in four overs.
