@Source: timesnownews.com
Jasprit Bumrah had an outstanding day in the field and picked three wickets to pull the game back in India's favour. Having bowled out for 471, India need a good start, and Bumrah removed Zak Crawley in the first over. Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope added a hundred partnership to put England on top before Bumrah removed Duckett for 62. Joe Root has been a thorn in the flesh for India, and he got off to a solid start; however, Bumrah cut short his innings to 28 to make a massive breakthrough for India. The three wickets by Bumrah were the only wickets to fall for England as they reached 209-3 at stumps on Day 2. Bumrah Makes Joe Root His Bunny Meanwhile, this was the 10th time in Test cricket that Joe Root was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. The record for dismissing Root the most times in Test cricket is held by Pat Cummins, who dismissed the England great 11 times. Josh Hazlewood also dismissed Root 10 times. However, Bumrah is the fastest bowler to dismiss Root 10 times. Bumrah achieved the feat in just his 25th innings. The record was previously held by Pat Cummins who dismissed Root for the 10th time in 27 innings. Bowlers To Dismiss Root Most TimesPat Cummins - 11 (31 innings)Jasprit Bumrah - 10 (25 innings)Josh Hazlewood - 10 (31 innings) Bumrah Hit - Rest FlopBumrah was a standout bowler for India in the first innings and even saw three catches being dropped off him. However, he lacked support from the other end as Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravindra Jadeja leaked runs. With no Mohammed Shami, India needed these players to play a supporting role to Bumrah, but that wasn't the case. Meanwhile, India will be disappointed that they could only score 471. They looked set to score near the 600 run mark but slipped from 430-3 to 471 all-out. Bumrah will only play three Tests in England, so the form of other bowlers will be a big worry for India.
