JB Chemicals’ shares fall over 6% after 5.8% equity change hands

Block deal trades of 90 lakh shares of JB Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals stock took place on the exchanges, with private equity firm KKR being the likely seller.
The number of shares traded accounted for 5.78 per cent of the total equity of the company.
Sources said that a number of domestic and international funds were buyers, but exact names could not be ascertained.
Term sheet details on Wednesday had shown that KKR, which held a 53.66 per cent stake in the company, aimed to offload up to 10.2 per cent stake in the pharma company for up to $300 million, with a base offer size of $200 million in which around 6.8 per cent equity was to be sold.
Shares of the company are under pressure post the block trades and at 10.33 am they were trading 6.3 per cent lower on the NSE at ₹1601.80.
