Jeff Goldblum stepped out in Italy for a rare outing with his whole family, including his wife and two sons. On Sunday, April 13, the Wicked actor, 72, was photographed attending a soccer match between Como 1907 and Torino at Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium in Como, Italy. Ahead of the game, Goldblum, his wife Emilie Goldblum and their sons Charlie, 9, and River, 8, all posed for some photos as a group, rocking jerseys for the team as they smiled and cheered. Other photos taken during the match showed Goldblum and his wife, 42, deep in conversation as they watched the game, which Como won 1-0. The Jurassic Park alum and his wife, a Canadian dancer and rhythmic gymnast, got married in November 2014 in Los Angeles and welcomed their first son, Charlie, less than a year later, in July 2015. They welcomed their second son, River, in April 2017. While Goldblum doesn't often bring his sons out for public appearances, the actor has been candid about his relationship with his kids and his love for being a dad. In an interview with The Independent published in August last year, Goldblum, spoke about becoming a father at age 62. Even though it's later than most, he said that he wouldn't have changed anything about it. "It's amazing," Goldblum says of fatherhood. "Every emotion comes up, and you are forced to examine everything that you model and could be better at. It's a great task and opportunity." Also last year, Goldblum appeared on the iHeartPodcast Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi and chatted with host Bruce Bozzi about how he's choosing to raise his two sons. On the podcast, Goldblum shared that he's adamant with his kids that they'll need to work to support themselves when they're older, telling them, " 'Hey, you know, you've got to row your own boat.' " "It's an important thing to teach kids. I'm not going to do it for you. And you're not going to want me to do it for you," he continued. "You've got to figure out how to find out what's wanted and needed and where that intersects with your love and passion and what you can do," the star said. "And even it if doesn't, you might have to do that anyway." Although Goldlbum was 62 when he first became a father, he doesn’t have any regrets about waiting, as he told Hoda Kotb on Today in 2022 — just after he turned 70. Speaking about being an older father at the time, the actor called it “amazing” and “revivifying,” and adding that it has “enhanced” his relationship with his wife. “And it’s challenging and it’s sometimes maddening and very volatile,” Goldblum added. “As you know, at 3 and 5, 5 and 7, they can be like feral creatures unleashed. Oh yeah, and sweet and amazing. It’s great.”
