Portugal midfielder Joao Felix was on Monday spotted training with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr’s pre-season camp even before an official transfer announcement. The Saudi team is in Austria for their pre-season tour, preparing for the upcoming season. Felix, 25, is all set to join Al Nassr for an initial £26 million transfer, where he will link up with Ronaldo. Ronaldo stressed that by playing together at Al Nassr, the two compatriots will be able to develop a greater understanding on the field throughout 40-50 matches next season. While Al Nassr are yet to make an official announcement regarding Felix’s signing, he was seen training alongside Ronaldo, an action that has raised eyebrows in the football circle. Aged 25, Felix is off to Saudi Arabia. “The feeling back home is that Felix has officially given up on being a truly top-level international player,” Lisbon-based journalist Marcus Alves has written. Should Al Nassr confirm Felix’s signing, it will mark the first time he and Ronaldo will play together at the club level. After failing to break into Enzo Maresca’s first team at Chelsea, Felix spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at AC Milan. Having come through the Benfica academy, Felix became the youngest footballer in Benfica B history when he made his debut in Portugal’s second tier aged 16. Felix went on to make his first team debut in August 2018 and he was brilliant in the second half of the season.
