Joe Hart squirms as Micah Richards is put on the spot after Aston Villa FA Cup draw
@Source: birminghammail.co.uk
Aston Villa will play Crystal Palace in the semi-finals of the FA Cup after dispatching Preston North End 3-0 in the quarter-finals. Marcus Rashford (2) and Jacob Ramsey netted at Deepdale to send Unai Emery's side to Wembley and they have been drawn to play Crystal Palace under the arch. Pundit Joe Hart conducted the draw live on BBC One after Villa's victory, with Bournemouth or Manchester City to play Nottingham Forest in the other semi-final. Ex-Villa striker Dion Dublin and the club's former captain Micah Richards were also on the punditry team at Deepdale. Dublin made it clear that he wants Villa to lift the trophy, but Richards was non-committal when presenter Mark Chapman suggested he should want Emery's men to win it too as a former captain of the club. Richards, who played 26 league games in four years at Villa Park before retiring in 2019, refused to answer the question. The Birmingham-born 36-year-old obviously came through the ranks and spent the bulk of his professional career at Manchester City and clearly hopes they will add to their tally of seven FA Cups. Hart, also formerly of Man City, squirmed as Chapman put Richards on the spot in the BBC's studio before laughter broke out. Villa have visited Wembley twice in the last six years but they haven't won a major trophy since lifting the League Cup in 1996. The Villans have won the FA Cup seven times in their history but haven't claimed the title since 1957.
