Joe Jonas, one-third of the popular American band Jonas Brothers, has been in the spotlight since a very young age. The singer, who has been in front of the camera for over two decades, recently shared that he truly enjoys the rare moments when he can connect with people without being mobbed. And the 35-year-old singer recently got to do that. On Thursday, April 24, Joe got the chance to connect with people as he partnered with Heineken to host an Off Socials event at Bleecker Street Bar in New York City. As reported by People, the Jonas Brothers singer performed his new single Heart by Heart for the first time before its release at midnight. He performed the heartfelt song for a small group of friends and fans, all of whom were asked to keep the event off social media. The 35-year-old singer also spent the whole day at the bar, filming the music video for the song, which is a part of his upcoming second solo album, Music for People Who Believe in Love. His album is scheduled for release on May 23 through Republic Records. In an interview with the aforementioned outlet, Joe expressed his excitement about giving his fans the music he has been “holding onto for a year.” Talking about his happiness about performing for a phone-free crowd, Joe said, “The last time I performed with no phones, I honestly couldn’t tell you.” The singer shared his experience of attending the Masters Golf Tournament, where phones were not allowed. “I think, once you’re away from your phone for even a few hours, you’re panicked sometimes — at least I am. And then you get back, and you’re like, ‘Okay, I’m fine, the world is still revolving, everyone is fine,’” he added while highlighting it was a nice experience to be away from the phone every once in a while. In the same conversation, Joe described himself as someone who is “chronically online” and admitted, “I’m at fault for becoming somebody that’s just on a death scroll.” Speaking about the concept of a phone-free crowd, the singer continued, “This is a nice reminder to just be present with your friends and family. You can shut your phone off for a few hours and hang out.” Despite the rule, many at his show ended up filming Joe’s performance and he isn’t that “mad” about it either. As for Joe, a lot has changed in his life between his first and second albums. The first one, titled Fastlife, was released in 2011. “It feels like a whole different… I can’t really relate the two albums together. But it’s exciting that this new journey has its own legs, so I’m grateful,” he told the outlet. Joe had originally planned to release his second solo album in October last year, but he is “glad” that he took some more time. Otherwise, he would not have come up with Heart by Heart.
