In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, podcaster Joe Rogan said that President Donald Trump is an outlier in his theory on public health.Newsweek contacted a representative for Rogan for comment on Monday. Why It MattersRogan's show boasts a wide audience and its runaway success has made the comedian one of the most influential podcasters in the world. What To KnowSpeaking with Brian Simpson, a stand-up comic who hosts the Bottom of the Barrel improvised comedy show, Rogan stated that in his opinion, more of an effort should be made to encourage people to prioritize their health and that many of the health issues in the country are connected to diet and exercise."If more people do that, there's more healthy people, if there's more healthy people, there's less losers, if there's less losers, the country makes more money, the whole GDP goes up," said Rogan."You're gonna do better. You're gonna do better with whatever you're doing in life if you're healthy. Because health is energy."However, Rogan said that Trump represented a flaw in his theory."Trump... eats nothing but McDonald's, drinks Diet Cokes, sharp as a tack, 78 years old."Like, okay, I don't know what to tell you."The comedian went on to reference images and video of the president playing tennis with Serena Williams in 2015, although Rogan initially mistook the video for one that had been produced more recently.Rogan remarked: "I mean, [Trump] plays tennis. There's video of him playing tennis. There's photos of him playing tennis. So he does some things."It's like, there's a lot of guys—they can't go to a gym."They need a purpose or they need something that occupies their brain so they play golf or they play tennis or they play games. They pick up basketball. They do that for their health because they just can't do the gym thing so they do something that keeps them active."Rogan added: "Yeah, so he's active."But that dude just eats cheeseburgers and s*** like all day long. It's like, I don't know what to say."Trump's love affair with the fast-food chain is well documented. He made headlines on the campaign trail for working a shift behind a fry cooker at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania.Rogan endorsed Trump in the 2024 election and has hosted the Republican on his podcast. Rogan was also in attendance at Trump's second inauguration. What Happens NextRogan releases several episodes of The Joe Rogan Experience each week.Do you have a story we should be covering?
