Judd Trump's huge net worth and new life away from UK with sports star girlfriend

World number one Judd Trump is back in action at the Crucible this evening as he looks to edge past Shaun Murphy in their World Snooker Championship second round clash. The 35-year-old defeated Zhou Yuelong 10-4 in the opening round in Sheffield to set up the tie with Murphy, and currently leads the 'The Magician' 5-3 heading into Sunday's evening session. It is a rematch of last summer's Shanghai Masters final, where Trump came out on top to seal the title with an 11-5 victory. Trump is already one of the most successful snooker players of all time, having won 30 ranking titles over the course of his career to date. That figure puts him behind only Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Hendry and John Higgins on the all-time list, while he also has five Triple Crown titles to his name. However, his victory at the 2019 World Championships remains his only world title and he is now in the hunt for a second in this year's competition. But his participation in snooker's biggest tournament comes after a busy few months for the Bristol-born star, who now lives a very different life thousands of miles away from the UK. From his new residence and sports star girlfriend to his huge net worth, here's what you need to know about Trump's life away from the snooker table. Trump is currently in a relationship with renowned Hong Kong figure skater and TV personality Maisy Ma. The pair were first reported to be an item last year, but they have kept their relationship out of the spotlight, choosing not to share photographs of one another on social media. Ma is 10 years younger than Trump and has over 180,000 followers on Instagram. She has won numerous medals in skating but also has a blossoming TV presenting career. To date, she has worked as a presenter at the Paris Olympics and at multiple horse racing events, while she has also worked with Mercedes on a corporate gig. Talking about his relationship with Ma, former world champion Trump said: "She's used to being in the limelight herself, she still does TV work. It's a good balance because she knows what I'm going through, I think that helps as well." Trump was previously romantically linked to UAE equestrian Khadijah Misr after she appeared with him following his victory at the 2017 Players Championship, but they later split. Having gained a reputation for a flashy lifestyle, the snooker star was slammed by promoter Barry Hearn for acting like a "part-time playboy", leading him to hit back. "Barry Hearn has said there's no time for playboys, but I'm not a playboy," he told the Independent in response. "My Twitter account status used to say 'part-time playboy' on it, but I've taken that down now." Earlier this year, Trump confirmed that he had decided to leave the UK for a new life in Dubai. While he had recently built a house in his hometown of Bristol, the 35-year-old made plans to ship his practice tables overseas in January, as part of a permanent move to the Persian Gulf. However, Trump - who also became a Hong Kong resident at the end of last year - explained that his girlfriend Ma wouldn't be joining him in Dubai. In an interview with Metro, he explained: "My practice tables are getting taken out next week so it's pretty permanent now. My main base will be in Dubai but my girlfriend lives in Hong Kong. "I have residence in both Dubai and Hong Kong so I'll be split between them depending where the tournaments are. It's very different, completely different from what I'm used to. I'm used to my old life of just going to practice and then sitting at home all night, every day," "Now there's a lot more opportunities to do different things," Trump added. "It's a more outdoorsy lifestyle, living in those different places, a lot more time after snooker to spend in the sun, or go to the beach or whatever. "It's a bit better and more inspiring than being in the miserable weather for months." Reflecting on the relationship between success and happiness, he continued: "When you're winning it's a lot easier to be happy. When you're travelling around and you fancy your chances of winning every event, you're not dreading going to venues. It definitely helps. "Where I'm living as well, it makes it easier to accept defeat. It's easier to travel back to that. You're in a bit of a bubble for the first few years when you make changes in your life or new things happen. You're a lot happier when you lose to go home." With so many title wins across his career, Trump has naturally amassed a significant personal wealth. He is estimated to have a net worth of around £10 million, having earned more than £8 million in prize money over the past two decades, according to CueTracker. Trump has already won £1.46 million so far this season - banking £500,000 for winning the Saudi Arabia Masters - and could add to that total significantly if he makes to the World Championship final again. The losing finalist at this year's tournament will take home £200,000, while the winner will lift the title and earn a cool £500,000 in the process.
