Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he is ‘super happy’ after his old club won the Premier League title under Arne Slot on Sunday.
The Reds produced a 5-1 comeback victory over Tottenham at Anfield to be crowned as champions of England for a record-equalling 20th time.
Klopp, who guided the Reds to the Premier League title in 2020, was not present at the match but Slot paid tribute to the German legend in Liverpool’s post-match celebrations, chanting his name towards the fans.
Slot became the fifth head coach to win the Premier League title in his first campaign in charge and the third-youngest manager to land the trophy.
He only arrived at the club in June, replacing Klopp, who decided to end his successful nine-year spell in England at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Klopp was delighted to see Liverpool win the Premier League this weekend, posting on Instagram: [I am] super grateful for the past.
‘Super, super happy about the present [and] extremely positive about the future! Congratulations – YNWA. Thank You Luv.’

Klopp’s social media post racked up over 750,000 likes in the space of five hours.
He is still adored by the Liverpool fanbase, having guided them to Champions League glory in 2019 as well as their top-flight title.
Liverpool also won the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Community Shield, Club World Cup and Super Cup during Klopp’s time in charge.

Following his departure, Klopp suggested that his career as a manager was over, something that was further reinforced when he was appointed Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull.
But despite only starting the new job in January, there have been rumours that he is unhappy in the role and may be tempted back into management.
It has been reported that the former Liverpool manager could make a sensational return to the dugout with Real Madrid.
However, Klopp’s agent Marc Kosicke has shut down the speculation, insisting that the 57-year-old is ‘very happy’ in his current role at Red Bull.
Arne Slot pays tribute to Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s title win
Speaking after the 5-1 win over Tottenham, Liverpool head coach Slot said: ‘It feels great. I don’t think I want to say a lot. The only thing now is to send my appreciation to Jurgen Klopp.
‘The work Jurgen and Pep [Lijnders, Klopp’s assistant] did – the culture, work-rate, quality – was outstanding.
‘I am 99.9 per cent sure that if I pick up my phone there will be a message from Jurgen. So many moments in the season the two of us have had contact.
‘I think he showed last season what a wonderful human being he is by introducing me [to the fans]. But what mattered most is the team he left behind that was able to win the trophy.’
