Shai Hope and Justin Greaves set a massive world record while producing one of the finest display of slog-over batting in ODI cricket history during the West Indies' 202-run victory in the third ODI against Pakistan on Tuesday (August 12) at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago. Greaves and Hope put up an unbeaten partnership of 110 runs in just 49 balls to help the home post a huge total of 294 on the board on a sluggish track as the Men in Marron won an ODI series over the Men in Green after a gap of 34 years with the last such victory coming in 1991. The West Indies duo broke a record held by former England captains Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler, -which was set in 2016. This is also the second-quickest century stand for the West Indies behind Wavell Hinds and Brian Lara (102 runs at 14.23 RR vs Canada in Centurion in 2003). It makes Greaves and Hope's effort, the fastest 100+ partnership for the two-time world champions.
