Justin Thomas Wins RBC Heritage in Dramatic Fashion, Snaps PGA Tour Drought
@Source: newsweek.com
For the second consecutive week, the world of golf fixated on a sudden-death playoff between two players starved for a victory.In the end, it was Justin Thomas getting his first win in nearly three years in a dramatic playoff over Andrew Novak at the RBC Heritage.Thomas and Novak pulled away from a packed leaderboard on Sunday, and battled it out down the stretch. Both finished 72 holes at 17-under par after Novak, seeking his first PGA Tour win, missed an eight-footer to win on the last.After Novak hit an average approach on the first playoff hole and missed a lengthy birdie putt, Thomas had a 21-foot look to win the tournament. From the second it left the putter, there was no doubt who would be hoisting the trophy.This is surely heartbreaking for Novak, who is still searching for that first victory.For Thomas, it is as sweet as can be on Easter Sunday.This post will be updated.
