Katie Taylor called out by Irish WWE legend at sold-out Smackdown Dublin show

History was made at the 3Arena on Friday evening as WWE aired a live televised event from Dublin for the first time ever. Opening the show was hometown hero Becky Lynch. A legend in professional wrestling, Lynch became the first woman to ever main event the biggest show of the year, Wrestlemania, when she faced off with Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey back in 2019. Lynch received a huge ovation from the Dublin crowd, but being a heel (bad-guy), she swiftly turned those cheers into boos and within moments, she had thousands in attendance chanting 'F*** you Becky.' Partway through a braggadocios speech about how she was the best thing to come out of Ireland since, well, pretty much anything, Lynch moaned about how the likes of the Ireland rugby team and Katie Taylor get such adoration but she doesn't. "The media will write opinion pieces about Katie Taylor," said Lynch before pausing as the crowd erupted at the mention of Taylor's name, "Fine, she's a good boxer, but can she cut a promo?" questioned Lynch as she played the pantomime villain to perfection. Taylor wasn't the only Irish superstar to get a mention on Friday evening, with WWE legend Sheamus getting the crowd fired up by leading a "Ooh, ah, Paul McGrath' chant in honour of the iconic soccer player before the show began. And on the 'boo' side of the equation, Logan Paul was given a proper Dublin welcome before eating an 'Attitude Adjustment' from John Cena to send the crowd wild.
