‘Keep Listening To Me…’: Owaisi’s Appeal To Pakistanis Amid India-Pak Tensions
@Source: news18.com
India-Pakistan ties: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, currently netizen’s favorite, has once again took a savage potshot at Pakistan and urged the Pakistani people to keep listening to him for increasing their knowledge. Owaisi, who at multiple occasions hit out Islamabad after the ghastly Pahalgam terror attack, said that perhaps Pakistanis haven’t encountered many others who speak as frankly or who they find appealing. Their exposure might be limited to what they see of him in India. He further said that he believed that continued engagement with his perspectives could broaden their (Pakistanis) understanding and dispel some misconceptions “… Pakistanis have not seen anyone else so outspoken or handsome. They only see me in India… They should keep listening to me; their knowledge will increase, and their ignorance will disappear,” he said while speaking to news agency ANI. #WATCH | Hyderabad, Telangana | AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi says, “… Pakistanis have not seen anyone else so outspoken or handsome. Owaisi Part Of Centre’s Anti-Terror All-Party Delegation Owaisi has joined the Centre’s anti-terror all-party delegations to foreign countries after New Delhi’s Operation Sindoor on terror infrastructure in PoK and Pakistan in aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. The firebrand leader said that the world needs to know that Pakistan projecting itself as an ‘Islamic’ country is all ‘bakwas’ and that India also has 20 crore Muslims. “I am not aware of the group I will be part of, and who is going to be the chairperson. We need to put forth India’s story. Pakistan is trying to project itself as an Islamic country, but India also has nearly 20 crore Muslims. We need to tell (the world) about this as well, Owaisi added. The central government has chosen seven lawmakers to lead delegations abroad as part of its effort to reshape the global narrative by presenting India’s evidence and stance on the Pahalgam attack directly to foreign governments and international bodies. Each delegation will comprise Members of Parliament from various political parties, prominent political figures, and seasoned diplomats. Owaisi Emerging As Netizens’ Favourite Amid ratcheting up tensions between India and Pakistan, the government has been constantly updating the world on the misadventures of Pakistan. The Opposition leaders, who usually jump in to criticise the ruling regime’s actions, have strongly backed the Centre’s move against Pakistan — the proven sponsors of terrorism. Among these leaders, Asaduddin Owaisi is one of them who has emerged as favourites of the social media. When tensions began rising after Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, it was Owaisi who stood up to abuse Pakistan when other Opposition leaders were yet to react. This instantly made the AIMIM chief a hit on social media. So much so that netizens who otherwise do not support his political ideology, came forward to indulge in a verbal duel with Pakistani internet users. An X user even dared one of his Pakistani counterparts to not say a word against Owaisi, adding, “Jaisa hai, humara hai (however he is, he is ours)”. A staunch critic of the government, often accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of being anti-Muslim, Owaisi has himself been labelled by his detractors as the BJP’s “B team”. However, during Operation Sindoor, Owaisi emerged as a strong, assertive Muslim voice condemning Pakistan, even going so far as to denounce its actions as being against the teachings of Islam. Strongly defending Operation Sindoor, Owaisi asserted that all terror installations in Pakistan must be destroyed. The significance of Owaisi’s stance lies in his representation of the Muslim community, where he is widely regarded as a champion of its rights. Pakistan, in its attempts to justify its actions in Kashmir, frequently cites the alleged “plight of Muslims in India”. India-Pakistan Tensions India, which had credible intelligence confirming cross-border links to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people, launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ and struck nine terror dens in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7. The Indian armed forces destroyed multiple camps of terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Hizbul Mujahideen, killing more than 100 terrorists.
