Following an unexplained break from her hosting duties on The Kelly Clarkson Show, singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson celebrated a monumental milestone for her programme. On Thursday, March 20, the Grammy-winning artiste marked the show’s 1,000th episode with a heartfelt and reflective celebration that resonated deeply with viewers.
The 42-year-old took to the stage, her excitement evident and gratitude unmistakable. “Welcome to the Kelly Clarkson Show and our 1,000th episode. I cannot believe today marks the 1,000th. It’s crazy,” she said, reflecting on her journey since the show’s debut on NBC on September 9, 2019.
Continuing her speech, she reminisced about the many talented people who had appeared on her show, saying, “We have met some hugely talented people, tons of big stars and inspiring everyday heroes.”
In her celebratory remarks, the Stronger singer also acknowledged the challenges she had faced, emphasising both personal and professional struggles. Kelly said how she and her team had built a supportive community, standing by each other through thick and thin.
The American Idol alum also reflected on how the entire team and her fans navigated the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic. She fondly recalled gifting her audience international trips to London and Australia. She even reminded viewers of the times she hosted the show “with an eye patch and with my leg in a cast,” making sure to clarify, “those were two different shows, ‘cause that’s who I am.”
The talk show host also hinted at personal struggles without divulging too many details.
“I’ve lost, alone, a lot. And along the way, we found comfort in one another. And looking back, we are all incredibly proud of what we’ve built and the community we’ve created,” she said. For context, Kelly parted ways with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, in 2022 after seven years of marriage.
Speaking of cherished moments, she reminisced about the show’s holiday traditions, inviting furry animals as guests, relocating The Kelly Clarkson Show to New York, and more.
“For 1,000 episodes, we have laughed together, we have cried together with beautiful stories, sang together with some people, danced together, celebrated and competed together,” she added.
Kelly Clarkson ended her speech by expressing her gratitude. She said, “I am grateful to everyone who has been a part of this journey. It has been such a cool time. Thank you so much.”
