Kelly Ripa addresses 'throuple' situation with Mark Consuelos' 'real work wife' in new TV series preview (exclusive)

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos might've purchased a soccer team, but they're also down to score a few goals when it comes to expanding the bounds of their relationship on home turf, too.
In Entertainment Weekly's exclusive preview (above) of the couple's new ESPN docuseries Running With the Wolves, the Live With Kelly and Mark cohosts navigate domestic life while balancing the challenges of co-owning the Italian Campobasso Wolves soccer team, including Consuelos dedicating more of his time to a new partner.
The clip begins with Consuelos and Ripa, both 54, on a video call with their daughter, Lola Consuelos, before he gets a phone call from Matt Rizzetta, another Wolves co-owner.
"Oh shoot, this is Matt. I've got to go talk to Matt. I'll be right back," Consuelos tells the ladies, with Ripa joking, "Dad has to talk to his other wife."
In a confessional, Ripa tells the crew that she "thought our investment would be a silent-partner investment," and that she "did not realize that Mark's real work wife is Matt."
Ripa asks her husband, "And I am now the... what would you call me?"
Without missing a beat, Consuelos smiles as he gives a quippy response.
"We're a throuple!" Consuelos replies, as Ripa throws her head back and repeats the sentiment with a laugh.
Outside of the throuple joke, Consuelos and Ripa have long displayed the strength of their marriage to audiences every morning on their daytime talk show.
Last season, the pair even traveled back to the Las Vegas wedding chapel where they were first married in a secret ceremony in 1996, after meeting on the set of the soap opera All My Children.
Shortly thereafter, radio host Wendy Williams outed their relationship to her audience.
"We'd eloped. It'd been a few months at that point — we'd been married for three months. Nobody at [All My Children] knew we were even dating, much less married to each other," Ripa recalled on a prior Live installment. "We're brushing our teeth and we've got Wendy Williams' radio show on. We're listening, and she's like, 'I've got celebrity dish.' The celebrities, I guess they had a broad use of the term back then, was the fact that two soap stars from All My Children, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos,... eloped in Las Vegas. There was this eyewitness that worked in the Clark County courthouse that said we eloped, and the news broke, and we had to tell everybody we were married."
