Kelly Ripa 'so enraged' by Mark Consuelos' soccer team's dreadful match, didn't realize she was 'cursing so much' near kids

Kelly Ripa was seeing red during a recent journey to Italy — but not because of the delectable pasta sauce typically associated with the region, but rather the dreadful performance of a soccer team the talk show icon and her husband, Mark Consuelos, co-own.
Ripa and Consuelos reflected on their Italian escapades during Tuesday's episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, on which the latter admitted that the couple's Campobasso team — which they invested in three years ago — performed so badly during a game that Ripa found herself actively cursing from the risers.
"It was not a good game for us, I think our players were already on vacation," Consuelos recalled. "They scored three goals on us in the first half."
Ripa then showed the audience a photo of Consuelos with his hands over his face in disgust, before she cued up an image of herself in an even deeper state of despair.
"This was after the second goal, I believe. I put my scarf in my mouth because I was cursing so much that Mark was explaining to me that there were in fact children around and that I needed to stuff a sock in it," Ripa continued, detailing a photo that saw her slumped over into Consuelos' arm.
"I didn't have any socks, so I put my scarf in my face," Ripa added. "After halftime, I refused to return to my seat because I'm nothing if not a sore loser."
Consuelos then explained that he tried to remain calm for his wife, because "there's an unspoken rule that you can't both be really mad at the same time," to which Ripa clapped back, "Whose dumb rule is that?"
The actor said "usually I'd be so angry at that performance that our team put on, that I would be you," but when he saw Ripa "really fired up," he had to "calm down" to counter her energy.

"He stopped me from throwing a can of Liquid Death onto the field," Ripa said, referencing the beverage brand. "A full can. I didn't drink it because I was so enraged!"
Upon partnering with Ripa for a joint stake in the team, Consuelos told PEOPLE after the deal that he envisioned "a story of redemption, rebirth and hope" for the team, and that the couple "are truly proud to play a role as co-owners."
