Kelowna RCMP needs the public's help to locate a suspect involved in a rash of break-and-enters at local golf course pro shops. The first theft occurred on June 5, when a suspect broke into the pro shop at the Shannon Lake Golf Course just before 1 a.m. and made off with several golf clubs, a golf bag and other items. Then on June 16, RCMP responded to a pro shop break and enter at the Gallagher’s Canyon Golf Club that happened at approximately 1:23 a.m. Again the suspect stole multiple clubs, a golf bag and other golf related items. The third incident occurred on July 11 at midnight at the Okanagan Golf Club. The suspect stole several clubs and putters along with other items. “The offender appears to know exactly where they are going as they enter the pro shop, immediately heading to the area of the high-end golf clubs, taking the ones they want, and then quickly departing,” says RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay. All three break-and-enters are very similar in nature and in both incidents at the Kelowna golf courses, the suspect arrived and departed on an E-Bike. “All of the items this suspect takes are top of the line clubs including a significant number of Scotty Cameron putters,” says Cpl. Tanguay. RCMP ask anyone who may recognize the person in the photo they have distributed to call the Kelowna Central Okanagan RCMP detachment at 250-762-3300 or leave an anonymous tip with the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
