Kevin De Bruyne's potential next club has emerged following his confirmation that he will be leaving Manchester City at the end of the current season. De Bruyne announced earlier this month that his time at the Etihad Stadium will come to an end in the summer when his contract at City expires. The 33-year-old's decade-long stint with City will draw to a close at the end of the season when he will officially leave the club as a free agent. The Belgium international is already able to speak to clubs outside England about signing a pre-contract agreement for this summer when his deal with City expires. Now, a fresh update has emerged about De Bruyne's future, indicating where the midfielder will be playing his football next term. Fabrizio Romano has reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Chicago Fire have made an approach to try and sign De Bruyne. The Major League Soccer club are reported to be the first club to express a serious interest in signing De Bruyne on a free transfer, with the City star apparently still weighing up whether to make the move to the United States in the summer. It was only last week that De Bruyne gave a fresh update on his future, indicating that no decision has been made on what club he will join after leaving City. The midfielder was also asked about the possibility of signing for a rival Premier League club rather than a move abroad. "I don't know. It could be not," said De Bruyne in an interview with Viaplay. "It's very hard because the decision of leaving is not been long so nothing can be decided in a week. "In the football world, I don't think everything comes in a week. It goes very slowly. I've not even seen my family since the announcement. "Whatever project is available, I'm willing to listen. I love football. "I love to play football and if a nice projects comes, and my family is good with that then we are able to make a decision."
