KL Rahul is playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025, and on Sunday (May 18), during his team’s 12th league match of the ongoing season against Gujarat Titans, he entered his name in the history books by becoming the fastest Indian to score 8000 runs in T20 cricket. The 33-year-old right-handed batter needed 33 runs to complete 8000 runs in T20s on Sunday, and he achieved the objective by hitting Kagiso Rabada for a six on the fifth ball of the sixth over of DC’s innings. The ongoing match between DC and GT at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is Rahul’s 237th T20 match, and he crossed the 8000-run mark in his 224th inning. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, needed 243 innings to complete 8000 runs in T20 cricket. The duo is followed by Shikhar Dhawan, who achieved the same feat in his 277th inning. The overall record of being the fastest batter to score 8000 runs in T20s is in the name of Chris Gayle. The former West Indies and RCB opener completed 8000 T20 runs in his 213rd inning. Babar Azam of Pakistan is 2nd on the list. He achieved the feat in his 218th T20 inning.
