Wests Tigers have come from behind for a wonderful 30-18 away victory to sink the Dolphins with co-captain Api Koroisau standing up when the game was on the line.
Koroisau scored the final try to wrap up the win after the 32-year-old proved too quick and cunning from dummy-half.
The Tigers trailed 18-6 in the 63rd minute at Kayo Stadium on Saturday before five-eighth Lachlan Galvin and hooker Koroisau were involved in key plays.
Koroisau had earlier made a diving tackle to knock the ball out of the grasp of Dolphins centre Jake Averillo when he appeared certain to score.
Dynamic bench hooker Tallyn Da Silva, 19, scurried over on the cusp of halftime to cut the margin to six.
Galvin chased the contest throughout and was involved in sending star wing recruit Sunia Turuva over to level the scores before Koroisau guile put Alex Seyfarth over in the 68th minute to snatch the lead.
The Dolphins were wasteful and lacked a playmaker. Koroisau was the man for the Tigers.
Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf is yet to break through for a win but his opposite number Benji Marshall, who sat on the bench in the second half, has secured his second in a row and both on the road.
Dolphins five-eighth Kodi Nikorima owned the big play moments of the first half with a try assist and one of his own.
The Tigers battled hard but their final play options cost them dearly. Prop Terrell May was enormous through the middle and Galvin was in everything.
Dolphins winger Jack Bostock, back from a knee injury, cruised over out wide and it was 6-0 to the hosts after six minutes.
The Tigers spine of Jahream Bula, Galvin, Jarome Luai and Koroisau clicked in the lead-up to Turuva scoring in the corner to level.
Dolphins centre Herbie Farnworth, their best player, made it 12-6 after a slick short ball from Nikorima to put prop Daniel Faifiti into the back-field.
Nikorima sliced through himself to make it 16-6 but the visitors owned the match after that.
The Dolphins wore a retro jersey in tribute to the 1965 Redcliffe side that won the club's inaugural Brisbane Rugby League competition that year, with late club legend Arthur Beetson in the side.
Tigers winger Jeral Skelton injured his left knee in the second half and did not return.
