Kyle Richards Calls Ex Mauricio Umansky When Snake Causes Chaos at Her Home
@Source: people.com
Kyle Richards knows she can always call Mauricio Umansky when things get crazy! This week, the former couple’s 25-year-old daughter, Sophia Umansky, shared two TikTok videos of a hair-raising situation as a snake entered the family’s home in Palm Springs, Calif. Her second video was in response to a fan who commented, “Call dad,” under her original post. “Replying to @Meg we tried that,” Sophia captioned TikTok No. 2. In the clip, Richards, 56, anxiously walks around the living room of the two-story home, telling her estranged husband, 54, over the phone, “I am not killing a f---ing snake!” “I’m freaking out,” Sophia says, shaking her sweatshirt while sitting beside a fireplace. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star laughs before jokingly scolding Umansky: “You’re the only one with a penis around here; get here and make yourself useful!” Sophia’s first TikTok, showing much more yelling — plus a look at their slithering guest — was captioned, “This snake had no business entering a house full of girls @Kyle Richards @Farrah Brittany @jennleipart.” Richards and the real estate broker share three daughters: Alexia Simone Umansky, 28, Sophia Kylie Umansky, 25, and Portia Umansky, 17. In July 2023, a source told PEOPLE that Richards and Umansky, who tied the knot in 1996, had separated but remained "amicable as they figure out what’s next for them and their family." The Halloween actress is also a mom to Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie, 36, from a previous relationship. The ladies, including family friend Jennifer Leipart, were in the desert for Coachella, according to additional content shared by Sophia. Horrified screams were heard for the entirety of the first TikTok, which began with the camera person running from a bedroom and stopping by a staircase to look from a safe distance as two others approached to see what was happening. “What is it?” Richards yelled from downstairs. Next, Leipart was seen standing in the bed — dressed in cowboy boots, a flowy dress and a cowboy hat — trying to escape from the reptile. “Help!” she screamed. “What am I gonna do?” the person filming asked, with Leipart instructing her to “get a golf club.” Richards, nowhere near the commotion, yelled from off-camera, “If it’s black, it’s not dangerous!” “Does it jump up and down?” one of the girls asked, getting several panicked, yet confused responses. Still standing on the bed, Leipart victoriously managed to push the snake out of a set of French doors — however, the ladies were still hysterical when they could only partially see the snake and wondered if it was halfway inside. As the overlapping screams continued, they ran around, frightened by the thought of more being inside, hiding in suitcases or purses. One person asked if there was a chance it laid eggs already. “We can’t leave until it moves on with its life,” one of the women said as the snake watched through the window. Eventually, animal control arrived and just before placing the reptile in a bucket for a safe removal, he let them know it was a harmless gopher snake. “They mimic rattle snakes to keep predators away,” the animal control officer said before saving the day.
