APPeter Rice will serve as Head of Ceremonies and Content, responsible for the creative vision and production of both the Olympic Games (July 14–30) and Paralympics (August 15–27).(Photo by Andy Kropa/Invision/AP, File) Veteran entertainment executive Peter Rice, former chairman of Walt Disney Television and 21st Century Fox, has been appointed to lead the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.Announced Wednesday by LA28 organisers, Rice will serve as Head of Ceremonies and Content, responsible for the creative vision and production of both the Olympic Games (July 14–30) and Paralympics (August 15–27)."Peter is one of the rare individuals whose expertise seamlessly combines creativity, operational insight, and production excellence," said LA28 chair Casey Wasserman. "He’s the perfect asset to reimagine how ceremonies can be experienced in the digital age."The Olympic opening ceremony will take place on July 14 at 8PM ET, with a dual-venue format at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and SoFi Stadium.
