Lamine Yamal earns €55,000 a day, yet can’t top his dad’s 1K legendary car

Who needs a Lamborghini when your dad drives a true legend? Lamine Yamal is only 17, but he’s already a football star: La Liga winner with Barcelona and European champion with Spain national team. Recently, the wonderkid made headlines not for an amazing goal or a brilliant pass, but for not getting a car. Why? Well, he doesn’t even have a driving license yet. Lamine Yamal, the only Barca player with no Cupra Cupra, Barcelona’s car sponsor, handed out shiny new rides to all the players… except one. Lamine, who doesn’t turn 18 until July 13, was the only first-team player left out. Rules are rules, even for a €200 million valued star. So how does Yamal get to Barcelona’s training? Sometimes it’s club staff, sometimes it’s family. And speaking of family, here’s the real plot twist: his dad drives a 1995 car, and it’s become legendary in its own right. A €20 million salary and a €1,000 ride It’s a strange image, especially considering that Yamal just signed a fabulous new contract with the blau-grana club, one that runs until 2031 and includes a dizzy (for us) €20 million salary per season, plus bonuses. That means he earns over €384,000 per week (around €55,000 per day), putting him among the club’s highest-paid stars. And yet… Dad is out here rolling through Barcelona and Catalonia in a fourth-generation Volkswagen Golf from the mid-90s. Dad and his vintage Golf Lamine’s father, Mounir Nasraoui, is already something of a viral figure. Originally from Morocco, he worked as a painter and has a bit of a flair for showing up (literally) at his son’s big moments. Whether it’s post-match pitch invasions or emotional social media stories, Mounir doesn’t miss a beat. He’s also the one who shared that now-famous 2007 photo of baby Lamine being lifted by Lionel Messi. Back to the car, according to Spanish outlet El Debate, Nasraoui drives a well-worn fourth-gen Golf, possibly a GTI (but more likely a diesel TDi with a facelift and aftermarket rims). It’s got the look, the soul, and probably the mileage of a delivery van that’s seen things. No chauffeur, no tinted-window Mercedes. Just a scratched-up, bass-heavy Golf that’s perfect for listening to rap on full volume in a parking lot. The car’s value: probably under €1,000 If it’s the GTI version, it might go for around €3,000, says the Spanish press. But if it’s a TDi (and it probably is), this glorious car is worth under €1,000. That’s less than what Lamine makes in half an hour. And here’s another one: last year, when Mounir was involved in an incident at a Barcelona bar (where he reportedly got stabbed during an argument), he left the hospital in that same old Golf, flooring it out of the parking lot like a Fast & Furious extra.
