A group of landowners entered Energy Fiji Ltd’s Wainikasou Power Station at Monasavu without authority on Wednesday.

They were contracted to cut grass near the facility and were from mataqali Nakorolo of Waibasaga Village in Naitasiri.

“A report was lodged at the Vunidawa Police Station that members of the landowning unit, contracted to cut grass within the facility compound had entered a restricted area,” said Divisional Police Commander East SSP Josua Vodo.

He said a team was sent up to investigate.
