Abhishek Banerjee leads Stolen, a tale of two brothers entangled in a harrowing chase that exposes the dark underbelly of rural India; season 3 of Ginny & Georgia dives deeper into Georgia’s shocking arrest and the fallout that tests the limits of family and trust; Jaat brings Sunny Deol back in full-throttle action mode as a retired brigadier who takes on a ruthless crime lord; Stick sees Owen Wilson return to the small screen as a washed-up golf pro mentoring a rebellious teen. Tourist Family (June 2) Tourist Family is a poignant tale of resilience and reinvention. The film follows Dharmadas ‘Das’ (M. Sasikumar), his wife Vasanthi (Simran) and their two sons as they flee post-pandemic economic turmoil in Sri Lanka, seeking refuge in Chennai. To assimilate, they pose as Malayalis, navigating linguistic hurdles and cultural nuances while forming unexpected bonds with their new neighbours. Their journey is further complicated when a bomb blast investigation threatens to expose their true identity, testing the family’s unity and the community’s empathy. Streaming on JioHotstar One of Them Days (June 2) This exuberant buddy comedy follows best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer), an ambitious waitress with dreams of franchise management, and Alyssa (SZA), a free-spirited painter, as they find themselves scrambling to recover their rent money after the latter’s boyfriend bolts with it. Their desperate quest leads them through a series of misadventures, including failed loan applications, a chaotic blood donation attempt and a run-in with a local gangster named King Lolo. As the clock ticks down, the duo’s resilience and friendship are tested, culminating in an impromptu art show that could solve their financial woes. Streaming on Netflix Stick (June 4) Owen Wilson leads this sports comedy series as Pryce Cahill, a washed-up golf prodigy turned reluctant mentor after his life spectacularly derails. His unlikely second shot at glory arrives in the form of Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager), a moody teen with untapped talent and zero discipline. Thrown together by fate and a fair bit of desperation, the duo navigates the roughs of trust, personal baggage and the oddball world of amateur golf, complete with a crusty caddie, a sharply observant ex-wife and more sand traps off the course than on it. The show also stars Marc Maron, Mariana Treviño and Judie Greer. Streaming on Apple TV+ Stolen (June 4) Stolen is a taut, emotionally charged thriller that unfolds in the dusty expanse of rural India. Directed by Karan Tejpal in his feature debut and backed by powerhouses like Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani and Vikramaditya Motwane, the film follows two urban brothers who witness a baby being abducted from a railway station. Compelled by conscience, one brother persuades the other to embark on a perilous quest to rescue the child, plunging them into a labyrinth of crime and corruption. Anchored by Abhishek Banerjee’s riveting performance, it also features Mia Maelzer, Shubham Vardhan, Harish Khanna and Sahidur Rahaman. Streaming on Prime Video Ginny & Georgia season 3 (June 5) The beloved show returns for a third season as the Miller family’s world unravels with Georgia’s (Brianne Howey) arrest for Tom’s murder during her wedding. When Baldev’s train journey halts unexpectedly, a simple quest for breakfast spirals into a confrontation with Ranatunga’s henchmen, igniting a battle that pits righteousness against tyranny. The cast includes Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher and Vineet Kumar Singh. Streaming on Netflix Tires season 2 (June 5) In Tires season 2, the Valley Forge Automotive Center faces new challenges as Will (Steve Gerben) and his cousin Shane (Shane Gillis) attempt to expand their business following an unexpected marketing success. The duo’s efforts to grow personally and professionally lead to unforeseen complications, testing their resilience and partnership. This season introduces a lineup of notable guest stars, including Thomas Haden Church as Shane’s affluent yet immature father, Phil, along with Vince Vaughn, Jon Lovitz, Ron White and Steph Tolev, adding fresh dynamics to the workplace comedy. Streaming on Netflix Mercy for None (June 6) Dive into the gritty underworld of Seoul with this noir action drama that explores the depths of vengeance and redemption. As Janiyah strives to care for her ailing daughter, a series of misfortunes, ranging from financial hardships to systemic failures, push her to the brink. A routine attempt to cash a check spirals into a catastrophic event, leading to her being wrongfully accused of a bank robbery. This intense drama, underscored by Henson’s compelling performance, explores themes of resilience, societal neglect and the lengths a mother will go to protect her child. Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor and Glynn Turman make up the rest of the cast. Streaming on Netflix The Survivors (June 6) This haunting Australian limited series is set in the coastal town of Evelyn Bay, Tasmania. The narrative focuses on Kieran Elliott (Charlie Vickers), who comes back home after fifteen years to care for his ailing father. His return stirs memories of a devastating storm that claimed the lives of his brother and two others. The town’s fragile peace is shattered when a young woman’s body is discovered, forcing Kieran and the community to confront buried secrets and unresolved guilt. It is an adaptation of Jane Harper’s 2020 novel of the same name.
