Leinster’s urgent warning to fans of major DART disruption affecting European Cup semi at Aviva Stadium

LEINSTER have warned fans attending Saturday's Aviva Stadium clash with Northampton to plan around major DART disruptions that'll be in place. The Blues will be looking to book their spot in the Champions Cup final for the fourth successive year in the 5:30pm kick-off. But before roaring their side on against the defending English Premiership holders, supporters will first have to navigate around the DART not operating around the Dublin 4 stadium. The club posted: "Important information for fans attending tomorrow's Champions Cup semi-final between Leinster andNorthampton Saints. "Due to engineering works between Grand Canal Dock and Greystones this weekend, there will be no DART services between Grand Canal Dock and Wicklow. "DART services will operate between Grand Canal Dock and Howth/Malahide. "The following stations will be closed: Lansdowne Road, Sandymount, Sydney Parade, Booterstown, Blackrock, Seapoint, Salthill & Monkstown, Dún Laoghaire, Sandycove & Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill, Bray, Greystones and Kilcoole. "Dublin Bus/Go-Ahead Ireland will accept valid rail tickets for travel between closed stations." Leo Cullen's men beat the Saints 20-17 at the same stage of the competition last year and are 19-point favourites to do so once again. While the Irish province have seemingly gotten stronger with the additions of Jordie Barrett and RG Snyman, Saints have gone in the reverse direction since they last met in May 2024. They are languishing down in seventh place in the Premiership table this season. But despite not being given much of a hope by oddsmakers, their director of rugby Phil Dowson insisted they have belief internally that the upset could be on. Earlier this week he emphasized: “Playing against some of the biggest and best sides in world rugby is a great challenge. "And it’s something that as a playing group, we want to pit ourselves against some of those groups. I think that’s why it has that certain magic really.” Last term, Leinster moved 20-3 ahead shortly after the break in front of a capacity crowd at Croke Park but, in the end, their winning margin was only three points. Dowson reckons the province has become stronger in the meantime, pointing to how they kept their two previous opponents scoreless in this term’s knockout stages. He said: “I think it’s both the attack and the defence that’s been hugely impressive. “Glasgow and Harlequins are two of the best attacking sides in the tournament. "Quins with Marcus Smith and the 9s they carry and people like Alex Dombrandt, they’re unbelievable in attack. “Glasgow, I think they’ve got more line-breaks than anyone else bar Leinster in the URC so to be able to nil them on the big stage is very impressive.”
