Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi spent a day with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and treated the couples son with pizza on a family meet-up during his rest time at Inter Miami. Given a break by the club from his Major League Soccer 2025 duties, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner indulged in family time. The football great’s wife shared pictures of their evening together with the fans on Instagram. Enjoying the company of his wife, Messi had a rare day out at his son Thiago’s match at the academy level for Inter Miami. While Antonela is a regular visitor to Messi junior’s matches, it was a special occasion for Thiago as his father made time out from his club and national duties to watch the son play. Playing the role of a ‘soccer mom’, Antonela captured her son on the pitch and shared it with online followers. Taking a seat with Luis Suarez, who was also rested by coach Javier Mascherano, Messi saw Inter Miami suffer a defeat at the hands of their rivals from Dallas. In a dramatic encounter, the Herons led FC Dallas by 3-1 but three goals in a space of 17 minutes turned the tables on them. The loss also put an abrupt halt on Inter Miami’s unbeaten run for the MLS 2025 season with the Dallas side claiming three points. Inter Miami has been managing Messi carefully as he continues to nurse muscle problems. But the all-time great is free of any serious injury and is good for the second leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-final with the Vancouver Whitecaps. When asked about his absence against FC Dallas, coach Mascherano told the reporters Messi has trained well for the upcoming game. ‘Leo is good. Obviously we decided, like many of our team-mates, to reserve him after the game against Vancouver where we had to travel for six to seven hours and play on synthetic grass. But he’s good, he trained today so he’s ready,’ Mascherano said.
