Mewis, a West Ham United player, and Kerr, who plays for Chelsea, posted a photo together lying bed, with the baby resting on Kerr’s chest. Mewis carried the baby to term. “Our little man is here, Jagger Mewis-Kerr,” the Matildas skipper said in her caption. The post attracted comments from the Women’s Super League, West Ham, as well as players, including Australia’s Katrina Gorry and Emily Van Egmond, and England’s Millie Bright. “The West Ham family has got a little bigger,” the English club said on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Huge congratulations to Kristie and Sam on the birth of baby Jagger!” In November, Mewis and Kerr announced they were expecting a baby in 2025, posting the news on Instagram with a collage of black-and-white images. In the photos, the pair held up an image of the ultrasound scan, with Kerr pointing to Mewis' baby bump. Kerr, Australia’s all-time top scorer, has been a key player of the Chelsea squad since 2020, helping them win the WSL title five times in a row and the Women’s FA Cup on three occasions. However, the 31-year-old striker has been out for 15 months after rupturing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during warm weather training in early January 2024. Kerr’s American partner Mewis played for NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women’s Soccer League in the U.S. before moving to England in December 2023 to play for West Ham, another London club like Chelsea.
