LIV Golf: 3 Players with Best Chance at Masters Glory, With a Surprise
@Source: newsweek.com
Not counting a last-minute special invitation from Augusta National Golf Club, 12 LIV Golf players will compete in the 2025 Masters Tournament.Seven of them are former champions, three qualified by winning other recent major championships, one qualified by world ranking and one will play thanks to an invitation from the organizers.This is the list of LIV Golf players in the field of the Masters Tournament: Phil Mickelson (former champion) Bubba Watson (former champion) Patrick Reed (former champion) Dustin Johnson (former champion) Charl Schwartzel (former champion) Sergio Garcia (former champion) Jon Rahm (former champion) Bryson DeChambeau (major champion in the past five years) Brooks Koepka (major champion in the past five years) Cameron Smith (major champion in the past five years) Tyrrell Hatton (OWGR top 50) Joaquin Niemann (Special invitation) To a greater extent, all of them have some momentum in the Saudi-backed league. However, there are three players on the list who stand out for their chances of making a great showing at Augusta National.Let's see who they are:1: Bryson DeChambeauBryson DeChambeau came close to winning a year ago when he led the event for the first two rounds. The 31-year-old couldn't keep pace over the weekend, but he still posted the best finish of his career at Augusta National (T6).It was no fluke. DeChambeau then tied for second at the PGA Championship and won his second U.S. Open, his career best run in major championships. His 2024 LIV Golf season ended with no wins, but seven top-10s in 13 individual tournaments.DeChambeau will enter Augusta playing well. He finished solo 5th at LIV Golf Miami. His length off the tee gives him an advantage of most of the field. If he can have a solid week on approach and get his putter to cooperate, look out.FanDuel odds: +20002: Jon RahmThe Spaniard has finished in the top 10 more than half the times he has played the Masters (5 out of 8), including his victory in 2023. It is true that he had his worst finish at Augusta National a year ago, tying for 45th, but there is no doubt that the course fits his game like a glove.In LIV Golf, Jon Rahm doesn't know the outside of the top 10, as he has finished in that select group in each of the 16 events he has played in the league.He is as talented and dangerous as anyone in the Masters field. Will Scottie Scheffler have to put the Green Jacket back on Rahm? We'll find out.FanDuel odds: +14003: Joaquin NiemannThe final LIV player with a legitimate chance at Masters glory is Joaquin Niemann.Niemann is the hottest player in LIV Golf. He has four wins in the last 17 individual events played in the league, spanning 2024 and 2025. Only the extraordinary consistency of Rahm prevented him from winning the title of champion last season.This performance earned him an invitation to several editions of the majors, including the Masters Tournament in 2024 and 2025. Last season, however, he failed to live up to his potential. Niemann was unable to finish in the top 10 in any of the three major championships in which he played.His presence at Augusta National next week is a fresh opportunity to prove that what he has achieved in the Saudi-backed league truly places him among the best players in the world, as many LIV supporters claim.If you have not been in tune with the Saudi-funded golf league, you may not be aware of just how good this guy is. Trust us, he has the good to claim his first Green Jacket.FanDuel odds: +2800More Golf: Jordan Spieth Nearly Throws Club in Disgust after Putrid Valero Texas Open
