LIV Golf’s money list as Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau share in over £700million
@Source: Dan Burnham
LIV Golf's money has shaken up the sport no end – and handsomely rewarded the top stars for their efforts on the course. Being backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which boasts wealth beyond belief in the hundreds of billions, means there really isn't a limit to how much LIV can boost the bank balances of their players. They've lured countless big names over from the PGA Tour with eye-watering signing-on fees. And, now entering its fourth season this week, they're already nearing the $1billion mark of prize money handed out, with in excess of £700million being awarded. As you'd expect, major winners like Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau have earned a healthy slice of that each. But it's actually Talor Gooch who tops the charts. According to National Club Golfer, his combined individual and team winnings total $56,435,280 (£45m). That includes the $18m (£14m) prize for winning the 2023 individual championship. Following closely behind is Dustin Johnson, who was LIV's first victor and earned the same amount 12 months prior. He's now on $55,041,630 (£44m). There's then a big drop to Cameron Smith in third on $40,913,874 (£33m). Brooks Koepka sits fourth on $39,431,225 (£32m), with Rahm impressively coming in fifth after just one year on the rebel tour. $18m of his $38,238,154 (£31m) earnings came as a result of him topping the points list last year. Joaquin Niemann ($36,404,141/£29m), Sergio Garcia ($33,617,808/£27m) and Branden Grace ($30,388,178/£24m) are sixth, seventh and eighth respectively before DeChambeau. The reigning US Open champ has banked $29,847,617, just shy of £24m, from LIV so far. Rounding out the top 10 is Patrick Reed on $27,938,797 (£22m). Other notable names include Tyrrell Hatton in 26th on $14,630,594 (£12m), Lee Westwood in 38th on $8,931,081 (£7m), and Phil Mickelson in 45th on $7,292,648 (£6m). The 2025 season got underway under the lights in Riyadh on Thursday and will see someone bank the $4m (£3.2m) top prize from the $20m (£16m) purse. The winning team, meanwhile, will split $3m (£2.4m).
