If you're unfamiliar with Moses Leo, here's a quick highlight:
He represented New Zealand in rugby sevens at last year's Paris Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games
Leo arrived in the off-season and only played his first rugby league game since high school last week, for North Sydney Bears in NSW Cup.
He said he got "a couple of calf cramps in the last 20 minutes" but Craig Bellamy has seen enough to give him a start, with the coach saying Leo's speed and attitude has impressed him most.
"Whenever he's trained he's trained flat out," he tells Fox.
"It's a big call for him. We don't expect miracles from him but we know he'll get out there and have a go, and that's all we can ask from him."
The Storm are usually a little slower to pull their new toys out and start playing with them (think of the slow progression of Jack Howarth or Tui Kamikamica to full-time first-graders), but Leo is 27 years old and the Storm are short on outside backs with Will Warbrick, Nick Meaney and Marion Seve injured.
Warbrick's former roommate with the All Black 7s was initially signed for 2026 and 2027 but was granted an early release by New Zealand Rugby.
