While the Atalanta winger dreams of a move to Camp Nou, he is also helping Nigeria get their qualification for the 2026 World Cup back on track.
Lookman’s dreams of summer Barcelona move
Barcelona’s interest in Lookman is intriguing but far from concrete. The Nigerian winger has developed into one of Europe’s most exciting attacking talents, with his dribbling skills and positional versatility making him an attractive option.
However, reports from Mundo Deportivo suggest that the Blaugrana have other names ahead of him in their transfer shortlist, including Liverpool’s Luis Díaz and AC Milan’s Rafael Leao.
Lookman, 27, is reportedly keen to leave Atalanta and would cost around €30 million, a fee that Barcelona may hesitate to commit given their financial situation.
Although the club’s management acknowledges his talent, there has been no formal approach, and any potential transfer would depend on how their other targets shape up in the market.
Super Eagles star leads Nigeria’s World Cup push
While speculation swirls about his club future, Lookman is making headlines for his national team performances.
The forward played a pivotal role in Nigeria’s recent 2-0 victory over Rwanda in a crucial CAF World Cup qualifier, providing the assist for Victor Osimhen’s opening goal.
His influence helped the Super Eagles secure their first win of the qualifying campaign, reigniting their hopes of reaching the 2026 World Cup.
With Osimhen grabbing both goals and Lookman shining, Nigeria now looks to build momentum when they face Zimbabwe on March 25.
