Continuing its expansion across Los Angeles, ‘floating’ tennis club Sunset Tennis Club today announced that it is opening a new location in the city’s Tarzana neighborhood, as well as plans for an expansion beyond the west coast. These new openings are part of a response to member feedback for additional courts in this part of LA, as well as an exploration in other markets. Sunset Tennis Club shared that it has grown 300% between 2022-2023, and 200% between 2023-2024. It launched with 30 members and one clinic location, and with the Tarzana opening will now have 1000 players, 25 weekly clinics and seven locations.
Founded by business partners Anna and Kacper Owsian, the two tennis enthusiasts met in Poland over 12 years ago playing tennis at a family club after relocating to Los Angeles wanted to create a similar feeling of a community-driven tennis-social club in their new home. Inspired by the retro tennis culture of the 1970s and 1980s, and hoping to develop a member experience as social as it is about sport, the Owsians launched the first Los Angeles clubs in Bel Air, Brentwood and Beverly Hills.
Anna Owsian shares, “At STC, we cultivate a warm and inviting atmosphere for players at all levels, so everyone from novice to professional can feel the embrace of authentic tennis culture. The picturesque courts, tucked away in LA’s most iconic neighborhoods, serve as the perfect backdrop for this revival of the golden age of tennis.”
Members can book private lessons and weekly group clinics for all skill levels, and receive special rates on private and group lessons. Guest passes, invitations to VIP events and access to lifestyle partner benefits are additional benefits of membership. Social elements of Sunset Tennis Club include tennis-lifestyle events hosted in partnership with brands such as Sporty & Rich, Oliver Peoples, Fila and Malbon Golf. Member events are now also expanding into the greater tennis landscape, as well. For California’s upcoming BNP Paribas Open Indian Wells, Sunset Tennis Club is hosting clinics and exclusive social events on and around tournament grounds throughout the Open in partnership with Proper Hotels and FILA.
After growing its revenue 300% within the first year and 200% in its second, the club is setting its ... [+] sights on adding events in Palm Springs and internationally by aligning with the ATP Master's Tour schedule.

The step beyond Los Angeles into the Indian Wells tournament is the first in a plan for greater market expansion. Anna Owsian shares that, “Beyond expanding our brand presence and STC experience to community members in areas outside of Los Angeles, we are also expanding to the East Coast this summer as part of growing our 2025 partnership with Proper Hotels. We have decided to extend our reach to other cities, with the Hamptons being the first on the list. Many of our current STC clients also spend their summers in the Hamptons, so we wanted to offer them the chance to experience Sunset not just in LA, but also while they’re traveling."
The growth into other markets includes international experiences as part of the ATP Masters Tour. Owsian continues, "Beyond the US, we have plans to bring the Sunset Tennis Club experience international in alignment with the ATP Masters Tour. On our radar are pop-ups in locations like London for Wimbledon as well as Rolland Garros in France."
