Love Island's Conor appears to slam co-stars with 'fake' video after villa exit

Love Island 's Conor Phillips has stirred up a bit of controversy after sharing a questionable TikTok about one of his fellow contestants. The 25-year-old Irish rugby player, who finished fifth in this summer's Love Island series with partner Megan Forte-Clarke, has been the talk of the town. Megan made a dramatic return to the villa despite being previously dumped by the public, and although they missed out on the final , their romance seems to be flourishing back home in Dublin. However, life post-villa hasn't been without its drama for the couple. Despite maintaining good relations with all the islanders from this series, Conor has landed himself in hot water after reposting a biting TikTok video targeting fellow islander, Meg Moore, who just missed out on the final . Megan was labelled as the villa's 'mean girl' during her time on the show and had several run-ins with runner-up Shakira Khan - who Conor paired up with on the show after they discovered their friendship had blossomed into something more. Throughout the show, Meg made numerous unkind remarks about Shakira, none of which were aired during either The Movie Night or The Graffties ceremony. This enraged viewers given that every spiteful remark Shakira directed at Meg was broadcast for all to witness, with fans alleging producers were deliberately portraying the dark-haired beauty as the programme's antagonist. Following his departure from the reality show, Conor appeared to have picked a side in this series' massive cast rift, seemingly backing Shakira wholeheartedly, reports the Mirror . The rugby ace didn't just like but actually reshared a fan-created TikTok clip branding Meg as "fake". The video's concept centred on claims that since exiting the villa, Meg has seemingly been attempting extensive reputation repair through countless TikTok posts featuring islanders she'd clashed with during filming, including Andrada and Emma. Conor seemingly endorsed the video's message, and predictably, viewers went into meltdown upon discovering he'd taken the trouble to reshare it. Yet as the clip and his repost attracted increasing scrutiny, Conor issued a statement insisting the re-share was an error on his behalf. "I reposted by accident. Meg is my big sis," he commented beneath the now-viral footage. Nevertheless, not everyone bought his mishap explanation as they flocked to the comments section to challenge the islander. One observed: "The repost button is too far for it to be an accident." Another sarcastically remarked: "Yeah, yeah Conor. Whatever you want to tell yourself. We believe you. NOT." "He was probably sending it to someone and accidentally clicked repost omg," speculated one social media user. Another TikTok enthusiast theorised: "I think it was Megan reposting it just to wind him up and see the drama unfold. She would be someone who would do that lol." Regardless of the TikTok kerfuffle, Conor's star has been on the rise since his debut on the show, amassing an impressive 204,000 followers on Instagram in the mere nine weeks since he first graced our screens on the ITV2 programme.
