Save the date! The Library Guild of Rancho Santa Fe and Warwick’s presents author Sarah Penner and her new novel, The Amalfi Curse, at the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club on May 1. Stay tuned for more information but mark your calendar now. And in the meantime, the Rancho Santa Fe Library is bustling with activity. Take in an art display, watch an Irish dance performance, read with a book club, or write with the writers group. Check out the events and activities and join the fun.
Irish Dancing
Saturday, March 22, 1 to 1:45 p.m.Join us as children perform Irish dancing out on the patio. They are from the world-renowned Doherty Petri School of Irish Dance. Fun for the entire family to enjoy.
Local Author Panel
Saturday, March 29, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Come meet local authors Muffy Walker, Sarah Z. Sleeper, Megan Groth, and Laura Akers as they discuss their latest work and answer your questions. Books will be available for signing and purchasing. Light refreshments will be provided.
Watercolor Class
Saturday, April 5, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Learn how to paint using watercolor with Margot Wallace. Space is limited so please sign up at the branch or call 858-756-2512 to reserve your spot.
Friday, April 11, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.Join your friends and neighbors for a lively discussion of a different book each month. For April, the book is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. The meeting is at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, and you can check out the book from the library or download a copy from the Libby app.
Coffee & Conversation
“RUTH” Remember Us the Holocaust—Thursday, April 17, 11 a.m.Survivor from six concentration camps, 95-year-old Ben Midler, will share his experiences and talk about his life today. His message for future generations is that a dream can be achieved by staying positive and focused. An excellent presentation for students. Moderated by curator Sandra Scheller.

Art Display, “Portraiture”
Through April 25The Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild hosts a new art display, “Portraiture.” See it now in the Media Room at the Rancho Santa Fe Library Monday through Saturday between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Writer’s Group
Wednesdays, 12:30 to 2 p.m.Are you competent, diligent, and amiable writer of fiction or narrative non-fiction? Then join us as we meet to discuss the creative process, mechanics of craft, and representation and happenings in the publishing world. We also talk about books, films and more.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.Join us for some gentle chair yoga with Silverage Yoga. Space is limited to 25 and is on first-come first-serve basis.
Meditation and Mindfulness
Wednesdays, 10 to 11 a.m.Discover simple, effective ways to reduce stress and bring balance and happiness into your life. This special program is limited to 20 participants.
American Flag Drop Off
If it’s time to retire your American Flag, please drop it off at the library. There is a drop box and your flag will be treated with respect.
Battery Drop Off at Library
The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a safe place to dispose of small batteries, including A, AA, AAA, C, lithium (with taped covered ends), cell phone and other small batteries. Do your part to stop pollution by bringing this toxic trash to the library. The drop-off program is in partnership with Universal Waste.
Seeds and Sustainability
The Rancho Santa Fe Library is a seed library too! Come by to pick up two free seed varieties that you can take home and plant.
