The output of the Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) of the country during the month of April grew by 2.29 per cent compared to the production of the corresponding month of the last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported on Wednesday.
The provisional quantum indices of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) for April, 2025, with base year 2015-16 have been developed on the basis of the latest data supplied by the source agencies and the quantum indices estimated for April, 2025, were recorded at 108.37.
On a year-on-year basis, the LSMI output increased by 2.29 per cent during the month of April 2025 as compared to the same month of the last year, whereas on a month-on-month basis, it decreased by 3.20 per cent when it was compared with March 2025, the data revealed.
During the period from July-April 2024-25, the overall Large Scale Manufacturing Sector has shown a growth of -1.52 per cent during the July-April 2024-25 when compared with the same period of last year. The QIM estimated for July-April, 2024-25 was 114.79.
During the period from July-April,2024-25, the sectors which recorded growth in their respective production included tobacco, textile, wearing apparel, coke & petroleum products, automobiles and other transport equipment.
While it decreased in food, chemical products, non-metallic mineral products, iron & steel products, electrical equipment, machinery, equipment and furniture.
