Shanaya Kapoor is finally making her debut in Bejoy Nambiar’s Tu Yaa Main. The daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Maheep Kapoor has been waiting for this moment for a long time. Although she was initially set to debut with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, that project never happened. Many other films were announced, including one with Mohanlal, but Nambiar’s film will be her first. In a recent interview with Filmfare, Maheep talked about Shanaya’s upcoming debut, saying her daughter has learned a lot from her father’s experiences in the industry. Sanjay, despite some hits, never fully made his mark in Bollywood. Maheep noted, “She has seen her father’s struggle and is very sensible and centred. She has now signed a couple of films and is working very hard.” Opening up on her reality TV show, she said, “When I was told that Karan Johar was making a show around Bollywood wives, I couldn’t believe it. I was scared to come out of the comfortable cocoon I had made for myself throughout these years. But then Karan told me that I had to do this show.” Meanwhile, the teaser for Shanaya Kapoor’s debut Tu Yaa Main is out now. Taking to her Instagram handle, Shanaya shared the teaser and wrote, “Love. Terror. And a collab gone very, very wrong. Produced by Himanshu Sharma and written by Abhishek Bandekar, the film’s core dynamic thrives on the lead pair’s strikingly different socio-economic backgrounds — a deliberate clash that speaks to the characters’ conflicting worldviews.
