KUALA LUMPUR - When Lena Takahashi, a 40-year-old Japanese interpreter based in Tokyo, first considered sending her daughter Eliza to school abroad, Europe seemed the natural choice. But after attending several student camps across continents, her daughter had another idea: Malaysia.
The decision surprised Lena, but not for long.
