@Source: castanet.net
A man who was allegedly smoking from a bong in his vehicle and then escaped a police stop by ramming two cruisers was arrested on Wednesday.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP said officers responded to a report that morning of a man taking puffs from a bong in the driver’s seat while parked in front of a Sidney business.
RCMP found the vehicle with the man still inside, but he then reversed rapidly, hitting the police vehicle.
Other RCMP cruisers attempted to block the vehicle from leaving, but the man hit a police vehicle again before speeding away.
Neighbouring police forces were brought in to help search for the vehicle.
About an hour later, at 11 a.m., Saanich police located the man driving in the Willis Point area.
Police said a roadblock had been set up in the area, and the man attempted to flee again, but gave up and was taken into custody.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sidney/North Saanich RCMP at 250-656-3931.
